Holy Spirit Series #5: Indwelling (July 31, 2011)
This is our final installment in the Holy Spirit series, and to wrap things up there are three key words/ideas which help distill all that we've look at and learned. The Holy Spirit's purpose is to mediate the presence, the power, and the promises of Jesus Christ in his followers. This sermon unpacks the Spirit's role in establishing the presence of Christ in the hearts of beleivers, in giving them power to do the work Jesus gave them to do, and to serve as a guarantee of the believer's inheretince through the promises of God in Christ.
Holy Spirit #4: Fruit (July 24, 2011)
Continuing in our series on the Holy Spirit, this week we focus on what the Spirit does in terms of changing us. The New Testament tells us that the Holy Spirit not only gives gifts to Chrsitians, but also causes new behavior and transformation in them: what St. Paul describes in Galatians 5 as the fruit of the Spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. Like a healthy plant or tree that bears good fruit, so the work of the Holy Spirit is to produce these things in us.

Holy Spirit Series #3: Gifts (July 17, 2011)
As part of the ongoing series on the Holy Spirit, this week is the second part of our two-week study on Gifts of the Spirit. There are a viariety of Gifst of the Holy Spirit, but there are some truths about these gifts that all have in common. We'll take a closer look at the nature of these spiritual gifts, namely, how these gifts are in fact gifts (i.e. not deserved), the fact that they have a supernatural elemet, and how they are intended by God to be rooted in love.

Holy Spirit Series #2: Gifts (July 10, 2011)
In our ongoing series on the Holy Spirit, this week we will begin a two-week study on the Gift of the Spirit. The Scriptures tell us that when God sends his Spirit to Jesus' followers, the Spirit creates in them special abilities or gifts: teaching, preaching, leadership, administration, prophecy, tongues, healing, and miracles. Who are these gifts for, how are they like (or different from) natural talents/abilities, and for what ultimate purpose has God given these gifts? At the end of this sermon, take some time to think and pray about what gifts God has given you.

The Holy Spirit Series #1: John 16 (July 3, 2011)
Having spent the last two weeks looking at who is the Holy Spirit, we're now going to continue in this series looking at what the Holy Spirit does. We start with the words of Jesus himself speaking to his disciples about the Holy Spirit (John 16). Jesus tells them two key things: that the Holy Spirit will convict us of our sinfulness, so we can see our need for a Savior, and will lead us, or teach us, in all truth.
