Pentecost: Ancient New Now (June 12, 2011)

Pentecost is the third Great Feast of the Christian year (next to Easter and Christmas), where we mark and celebrate the unleashing of the Holy Spirit of God upon the followers of Jesus. This was such a remarkable event, with such a remarkable effect on the disciples of Jesus, that the rest of the people in Jerusalem thought the disciples were drunk! What is the signficance of that first Pentecost, and what does it mean for us on Pentecost today? Pentecost is something ancient, something new, and also something now.
