In this second post-resurrection account, found in Luke 24, we find two disciples walking dejectedly from Jerusalem when a stranger meets them on the road. This stranger (who is in fact the Risen Christ) reveals himself to these discipls by explaining God's Word to them and by breaking bread with them - establishing for us the reality that God is present with us in Christ through his Word and Sacraments.
